Staff of Mental Care (MC) and their associates have donated some gift items to the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba in Lagos.

The team, led by Mental Care founder, Tola Omosehin (aka Tbaby), was accompanied to the mental hospital by Nigerian Comedian, Toyin Bayegun (aka Woli Arole); social media influencer, Pamilerin Adegoke; Pelumi Adekoya and Omotobora Samson (aka Mcbleach), among others.

The donation, according to Omosehin, was the group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) aimed at creating public awareness for the hospital while also providing assistance to the mentally challenged who were some of the most vulnerable people in the society amidst the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging the country.

He noted that the group would henceforth pay regular visits to mental health facilities across the country, while also “creating contents that signpost the entirety of mental health services and putting in right perspective the myth and public notions surrounding mental healthcare in Nigeria.”

Receiving the visitors, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Oluwayemi Ogun, lauded the Mental Care team for the donation, saying the hospital has been a treatment centre and home to several mentally challenged persons in the country.

Dr. Ogun promised to support the team towards raising mental awareness among Nigerians.

Some of the items donated include toiletries, beddings, clothing and female essentials.
