Mutiu Adepoju, an ex-international, has advised Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC) not to rest on their oars in spite of the team’s promotion to Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Adepoju, a former Manager of the Club, who said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Friday in Lagos; applauded the teams’ resilience while playing in the second division.

NAN reports that 3SC gained promotion after defeating Ekiti United FC 6 -0, in the final game of the NNL Super Eight play-offs, to wrap up the league as winners of the Group B conference.

“It is commendable what they have achieved with their hard work and dedication, the whole team and backroom staff deserved this victory, but I must say, hard work requires more hard work.

“If they worked double hard, now they have to work four times harder, as it is, they have to maintain their winning ways to make a statement with their return.

“The NPFL is at the stage for teams to shine and showcase their dexterity and I believe the team earned it, they should do everything humanly possible to guard their spot jealously, once the new NPFL season starts,” Adepoju said.

3SC had earlier defeated Bendel Insurance 2-1 and played 1-1 with Remo Stars FC, to scoop a total of seven points to top Group B. (NAN)
