Bayern Munich chairman Oliver Kahn has been confirmed on the board of the European Club Association (ECA) as the first vice-chairman following an election in Paris on Thursday.
The former Germany goalkeeper will replace Bayern director Michael Gerlinger with the organization which was led for years by Kahn’s predecessor in Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Opposition to the proposal to hold the World Cup every two years, player safety and the modernization of financial fair play rules were among the subjects discussed at the meeting.
