Bayern Munich bosses are reportedly set to hold talks with Juventus officials on Monday over a possible transfer of centre-back Matthijs de Ligt to the Bundesliga champions.

Sports paper Tuttosport said that apart from making the trip to Italy Bayern bosses were ready to submit an improved offer, after allegedly first offering €75 million ($76.2 million).

The report said that the 22-year-old Dutch international de Ligt was returning from his holiday later on Saturday and that his agent was also in town.

De Ligt has a €120 million release clause in his contract which runs until 2024, and according to multiple reports he wants to leave Juve after three years.

Chelsea are reportedly also interested in de Ligt, with La Gazzetta dello Sport saying that Juve were only willing to let him go if they find an adequate replacement, and Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly reportedly their preferred target.

Juve had Friday signed Argentine striker Angel di Maria on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, and France midfielder Paul Pogba is also close to signing in a return from Manchester United.
